Junho of group 2PM, who is a publicity ambassador for World Vision, will run in the marathon '2018 Global 6K for Water' to be held on November 3rd at the Ttukseom Hangang Park waterfront garden. The 'Global 6K for Water' campaign, hosted by World Vision and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, is a marathon event held to promote interest in World Vision's drinking water and sanitation projects. Participants run the average distance of 6km that children in Africa walk every day to get water. It will be held in 23 countries including the US, Canada, and Australia with 48,000 participants, and this year it will be held in Seoul for the first time. Actor and singer Junho, who is active as a World Vision publicity ambassador, will participate as the first runner and run 6km. Junho was appointed as a World Vision publicity ambassador in July 2012. After visiting Ethiopia in 2013 and meeting his sponsored child Felmeta, he has been at the forefront of sharing activities with World Vision, such as sponsoring a water pump in the Jimma Maganetti region where the child lives, along with his fan club. On the day of the event, Junho plans to run wearing a bib with a photo of his sponsored child Felmeta. Junho and all event participants will wear special bibs printed with photos of African children. Additionally, a special segment will be held where participants run 6km carrying buckets full of water. While individuals can bring their own water containers, kettles, or water bottles, a special event will be held for 20 pre-registered participants to run with jerrycans (plastic fuel containers) used by children in Africa. Those who wish to participate in the event can apply on a first-come, first-served basis for the first 1500 people on the official homepage of Global 6K for Water (global6kforwater.com) until midnight on the 28th. The participation fee is 10,000 won per person, and the entire participation fee will be used for World Vision's water and sanitation projects in Africa.
