    Actor Kim Soo-hyun has been discharged from active duty amid cheers from fans both domestically and internationally.

     

    Kim Soo-hyun completed his active military service in the 1st Division Reconnaissance Battalion and revealed his thoughts on his discharge around 8:30 AM on the 1st.

     

    More than 300 fans and 70 members of the press gathered near the base to await Kim Soo-hyun's discharge.

    Notably, fans from all over the world, including Japan, China, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Canada, welcomed him with placards, demonstrating his enduring popularity.

    Kim Soo-hyun, appearing in his military uniform with a bright smile, first said, "Thank you for coming." He added, "I worried about how I would spend my time as I entered the military a bit later than others, but I'm glad I came to the 1st Division Reconnaissance Battalion. I seem to have completed my military service safely. Thank you." He continued, "I still don't quite believe it, even now as I prepare for the discharge ceremony at dawn, but I feel refreshed."

     

    When asked what he wanted to do most after his discharge, Kim Soo-hyun replied, "I thought a lot and worried while I was in the military, but now I feel like resting a bit. I haven't decided on my next project yet, but please wait a little longer." He also shared his future plans, saying, "I think I'll be planning my next project around next year."

    Previously, Kim Soo-hyun was initially classified as a public service worker (Grade 4) due to a heart condition he had since childhood. However, with the intention of serving active duty, he managed his health, underwent re-examination, and received a Grade 1 classification. He then enlisted for active duty on October 23, 2017, and served in the 1st Division Reconnaissance Battalion, a front-line unit. During his service, he was selected for the unit's TOP team and as a special warrior, receiving early promotions and serving as a model soldier.
