“I want to send my deepest gratitude to all the fans.”
TOP, who was the first among the BIGBANG members to complete his military service, expressed his gratitude to his fans first after his discharge. Despite various issues during his military service, he was able to convey his thanks by being the first to deliver his discharge notice to the fans who supported him. This is the most perfect start for his return. TOP was discharged after completing his last day of service as a public service worker on the 6th at the Yongsan Craft Museum in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. About 200 fans and reporters gathered early at the scene that day to wait for TOP. TOP appeared wearing a black jacket despite the hot weather and was escorted by security guards. He later left in a car prepared in advance in the parking lot, using a different route than the main entrance. TOP avoided the reporters, feeling burdened by them, but he did not avoid his fans. That afternoon, he held a surprise fan meeting near Hannam Elementary School and personally delivered his discharge notice to his fans. He prepared a separate time to greet his fans directly, avoiding excessive media attention, to show his care for them. Notably, TOP was spotted returning home in a suit, not the black jacket he wore when he came to work that day, which raised questions. It was understood that this was prepared for the surprise meeting with fans. It is interpreted as his intention to be respectful as he stands before his fans for the first time after completing his military service.
At the fan meeting that day, TOP bowed 90 degrees to his fans and shook hands with a smile, expressing his gratitude. Although TOP had caused disappointment to his fans through various issues during his military service, he wanted to directly convey his appreciation to the fans who still supported him. He is someone who came out first to take care of his fans after finishing his service and conveyed his feelings. Afterward, on the 7th, TOP personally posted an apology on his social media, reaching out to his fans once again. TOP stated, “Although there is nothing for me to be proud of, I want to send my deepest gratitude to all the fans who have come this far and are with me,” and conveyed his sincerity, “I will reflect on myself and do my best to recover from the disappointment and hurt I have caused you.” TOP continued, “I repeat my thanks. Until we meet again. Love TOP,” and also shared photos from the fan meeting. Through the apology he personally wrote, he once again looked after his fans' hearts, and TOP conveyed his gratitude towards his fans and his remorse for his wrongdoings. With his discharge and his immediate effort to take care of his fans and convey his sincerity, it seems natural that fans' support for TOP will only grow stronger. TOP, who took care of his fans first and finished his military service amidst 'hot' attention, is now returning with a wise comeback plan, and attention is focused on how he will resume his activities.
