Kim Junsu has received the Hallyu Culture Award.

Junsu, who is active in various fields not only as a singer but also as a musical actor, attended the 'Newsis 2019 Hallyu Expo' held on the morning of the 23rd at the Crystal Ballroom on the 2nd floor of Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, and received the honor of the Hallyu Culture Award (Seoul Mayor's Award - Individual).

'2019 Newsis Hallyu Expo Hallyu Culture Award', held for the first time this year, is an event hosted by Newsis, a private news agency. It is a venue to discover and award individuals, organizations, content, and companies that have contributed to the spread of Hallyu and the enhancement of Korea's national prestige through excellent product and service development utilizing Hallyu, as well as cultural artists.

Junsu, who possesses numerous hit songs including ballads and OSTs in addition to dance tracks, has proven himself to be a star promoting Hallyu as a solo singer. He debuted as a musical actor in 2010 with the musical 'Mozart!',

and since then, he has achieved unparalleled box office success in musicals such as 'Elizabeth', 'December', 'Dracula', 'Death Note', 'The Picture of Dorian Gray', and 'Xcalibur', leading the expansion of the Korean musical scene.  

Kim Junsu, through 'Elizabeth', his first comeback work after his discharge, and his next production 'Xcalibur', once again demonstrated his drawing power, solidifying his reputation as a contributor to the Hallyu culture boom.

Immediately after receiving the award on the same day, Junsu said,

"It is an honor to receive an award at the first awards ceremony of the 'Newsis 2019 Hallyu Expo' which promotes Hallyu.  

I believe that receiving such a grand award is thanks to the love from the audience and fans.

This summer, Kim Junsu perfectly transformed into the legendary King Arthur through his nuanced emotional acting, spectacular action, and powerful voice and explosive singing ability in the original premiere musical 'Xcalibur', recording sold-out performances at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts Grand Theater.  

Kim Junsu, who not only created his unique Arthur that only he could portray but also received praise for his passionate performances that vividly embody each character in every production, has once again proven himself to be a musical actor who does not disappoint with this 'Hallyu Culture Award' (Seoul Mayor's Award - Individual) win.

After successfully concluding the musical 'Xcalibur' and receiving the honor of the 'Hallyu Culture Award' (Seoul Mayor's Award - Individual), Kim Junsu, who continues his active career, plans to take a short break and prepare for his activities in the second half of the year.
