STARSHIP Entertainment has announced its position regarding former MONSTA X member Wonho (Lee Ho-seok), who is embroiled in suspicions of marijuana smoking.
On the 1st, agency STARSHIP Entertainment stated, "We were completely unaware" of the ongoing investigation into Wonho and the investigation into marijuana suspicions from 2013.
STARSHIP Entertainment continued, "We have determined that we can no longer maintain our contract with Wonho regarding this matter, and we have terminated our contract with Wonho as of November 1, 2019," they announced.
The agency also stated, "We feel a deep sense of responsibility for the concerns we have caused many people and will do our best to cooperate fully with the investigation."
On this day, a media outlet reported that Wonho had smoked marijuana in the past. Mr. Jung, who was the general manager of Burning Sun and is currently imprisoned in Seoul Detention Center on drug use charges, stated that he directly witnessed Wonho and Jung Da-eun smoking marijuana at Jung Da-eun's home in October 2013.
Jung Da-eun also admitted to this. Jung Da-eun had previously appeared with Wonho on "Ulzzang Generation" and recently exposed that Wonho had not repaid money. Jung Da-eun also confessed in an interview with the media that she had smoked marijuana with Wonho.
Notably, the police revealed that they had been investigating Wonho since last September. At the end of September, upon returning to Korea after MONSTA X's German tour, Wonho voluntarily submitted hair samples at Incheon Airport, and drug tests were also conducted.
