An arrest warrant has been requested for V.I, formerly of BIGBANG. This comes seven months after the prosecution received the 'Burning Sun Incident' case from the police.
According to the prosecution on the 10th, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office requested an arrest warrant on the 8th against V.I on seven charges, including violations of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Prostitution Offenses.
The charges also include suspicions of habitual gambling in places such as Las Vegas, USA, for approximately three and a half years starting in 2013 (habitual gambling) and violations of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act.
V.I's pre-arrest warrant investigation (substantive review of the warrant) will be held at 10:30 AM on the 13th at the Seoul Central District Court's warrant judge's chamber. Previously, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Intelligent Crime Investigation Unit applied for an arrest warrant last May on charges including embezzlement under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Economic Crimes, embezzlement in the course of duty, violation of the Act on the Punishment of Prostitution, and violation of the Food Sanitation Act, but the warrant was dismissed by the court.
