Singer Seungri (real name Lee Seung-hyun, 30) will enlist on March 6.

According to sources, Seungri is scheduled to enlist as an active-duty soldier at the 6th Division Recruit Training Center on March 6.

It is understood that he is currently quietly preparing for his military service. On the 4th, the Military Manpower Administration sent Seungri his enlistment notice, and it is believed that Seungri chose to enlist without requesting a postponement.

At the time, the Military Manpower Administration stated, "To ensure fair imposition of military service obligations for Seungri, we sent the enlistment notice as the investigation concluded." They added, "Upon the conclusion of the investigation, we will issue an enlistment notice according to the same procedures as for civilians. This is because there are concerns that the imposition of military service obligations could be hindered if the trial proceeds for a long time in civilian courts."

Seungri was originally scheduled to enlist as an active-duty soldier in the Army in March of last year but had previously postponed his enlistment once.

Some have raised concerns that if Seungri enlists, various cases surrounding him will be transferred to a military court, potentially changing the investigative body and thus slowing down the process.

In response, the Military Manpower Administration emphasized, "We will actively cooperate with the prosecution to ensure a fair judgment is consistently made, and we will ensure that the trial takes into account the progress of related cases, including the outcomes of civilian court rulings." According to current law, if a defendant becomes a member of the military, the case is transferred to a military court, meaning Seungri will now be tried in a military court.

Meanwhile, on January 30, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office indicted Seungri without detention on charges including habitual gambling, violation of the Foreign Exchange Transactions Act, and violation of the Act on the Punishment of Prostitution, among others. Seungri is suspected of arranging prostitution for overseas investors from Japan, Hong Kong, and other countries multiple times since late 2015 (violation of the Act on the Punishment of Prostitution), using funds from Yuri Holdings for employee legal fees (embezzlement), transmitting nude photos of women via KakaoTalk (violation of the Act on Special Cases Concerning Sexual Crimes), and habitually gambling for about three and a half years since December 2013 at hotel casinos in Las Vegas, USA, along with former YG Entertainment representative producer Yang Hyun-suk (50) (habitual gambling).
