BLACKPINK's "BOOMBAYAH" has set a new record in K-Pop history.
They have become the first K-Pop group to have two music videos with over 800 million views on YouTube, leaving their "footprint" in K-Pop history.
BLACKPINK's "BOOMBAYAH" surpassed 800 million views on YouTube at 9:04 AM on the 24th.
To commemorate this, their agency YG Entertainment released a celebratory video on their official blog, featuring footage of their activities during the "BOOMBAYAH" era.
This makes BLACKPINK the first K-Pop group in history to own two music videos with over 800 million views. Previously, their music video for "DDU-DU DDU-DU" achieved 1 billion views, earning them the title of highest-viewed K-Pop group of all time.
Furthermore, their music videos for "KILL THIS LOVE" and "AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST" have surpassed 700 million views and are nearing 800 million. Additionally, they have 18 videos, including choreography videos and music show performances for all eight of their music videos released since their debut, that have surpassed 100 million views.
Having successfully completed their Japan Dome tour, BLACKPINK is now focusing on preparing for a new album.
