BLACKPINK has rewritten the all-time highest ranking for a K-pop girl group on the U.S. Billboard's main singles chart, "HOT100."

Billboard announced on its official homepage on the 8th (local time) that BLACKPINK's "ice cream" ranked 13th on this week's "HOT100" chart.

This is a remarkable achievement, far surpassing the previous record of 33rd place set by BLACKPINK's song "How  You  Like  That."

According to Nielsen Music data cited by Billboard, "ice cream" garnered 18.3 million streams and 23,000 digital downloads in the U.S. during its first week of release (August 28 - September 3).

It also accumulated approximately 5.1 million radio listeners.

As a result, "ice cream" ranked 2nd on the Digital Song Sales chart, 8th on the Streaming Songs chart, and 32nd on the Pop Songs radio airplay chart.

Notably, this marks BLACKPINK's first entry onto the Pop Songs radio airplay chart since their debut.

U.S. radio broadcasting has high barriers for non-English speaking artists and is considered one of the indicators for gauging local mainstream popularity.

"ice cream" is a pop genre song characterized by its lyrics, "Looks like I'm cold, but I'm sweet inside," and its upbeat melody.

It's a song with a cute and refreshing concept, specially presented by BLACKPINK, known for their intense performances and girl crush charm, alongside Selena Gomez.
