YG Entertainment (hereinafter YG) is beginning its full-scale move to a new building.

YG announced on the 23rd, "The new building, which we have focused on for the past 8 years, has finally been completed, and we began moving some personnel and facilities on the 16th."

The new YG building, located in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, is adjacent to the old building and is built on a site of 3,145㎡ (approximately 1,000 pyeong) with 5 basement levels and 9 above-ground floors. The indoor area reaches 6,000 pyeong. This is 10 times the indoor area compared to the existing building.

YG explained, "We could have purchased an already constructed building, but as we are a special industry dealing with music, we needed to ensure no noise damage to the surrounding commercial areas and residents, and also required perfect soundproofing between floors and rooms within the building. Thick soundproofing facilities necessitate high floor heights, which had to be thoroughly calculated from the architectural design stage, making it difficult, which is why we built a new building."

The current building, which has been used for the past 10 years, is scheduled to be connected to the new building via an overhead bridge.

The new YG building is equipped with a 2-story auditorium, 7 large dance practice rooms, 7 large recording studios, and 30 private music studios for exclusive composers and artists.

Additionally, YG's in-house cafeteria, known for its resemblance to home-cooked meals and frequently featured on broadcasts, has been expanded to occupy the entire 2nd floor above ground, spanning hundreds of pyeong, and the basement floors house large fitness and recreational facilities, emphasizing convenience and welfare for employees and affiliated singers.

YG is also drawing attention for planning to establish separate welfare facilities for fans, not just for employees. They plan to rent out all floors of a small new building directly opposite the new headquarters to create a resting space and exhibition/convenience facilities for fans by the end of the year.

A YG representative stated, "Previously, many overseas fans who traveled from afar to see our affiliated artists would visit in front of the building, but the problem was that fans had to stand on the street even in the harsh cold of winter and the sweltering heat of summer, which worried us. Especially, there were limitations in using basic facilities like restrooms, which we felt very sorry about."

They added, "While preparing the new building, we always intended to create an indoor space for our fans. By establishing a fan space in the building directly facing the new headquarters, where the new building is visible at a glance, we are now very happy that fans can use the indoor facilities without worrying about the cold and heat."

YG will celebrate its 25th anniversary next year. YG, which has produced countless famous artists, currently has Big Bang, BLACKPINK, WINNER, iKON, AKMU, TREASURE, and many famous actors under its label.

Finally, YG stated, "With the new building fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, we will focus on nurturing new artists and contributing to raising the status of K-POP in the global market."
