    The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters of the South Korean government announced on the 18th that due to an increase in COVID-19 infections,

    the level of the "Social Distancing"防疫 measures for Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and Gwangju in the southwest will be raised from Level 1 to Level 1.5 starting from the 19th.

    Under Level 1.5,防疫 measures will be strengthened, focusing on 23 types of facilities with a high risk of infection.

    In addition to capacity limits, mask-wearing, visitor log management, ventilation, and disinfection will also be mandatory.

     

    Furthermore, dancing and moving between seats will be prohibited in entertainment facilities,

    and eating or drinking other than water or non-alcoholic beverages will be prohibited in karaoke boxes.

    Rooms that have been used must be disinfected and left unused for at least 30 minutes before being used again.

    Eating or drinking will also be prohibited in live music venues.

    Restaurants and cafes larger than 50 square meters must implement measures such as spacing tables apart or installing partitions between tables.

     

    Failure to comply with these measures will result in fines for facility managers, operators, and users.

     

    The 14 types of general management facilities include: ▼ Internet cafes ▼ Cram schools, driving schools, and vocational training institutions ▼ Reading rooms

    ▼ Wedding halls ▼ Funeral halls ▼ Movie theaters ▼ Performance venues ▼ Game centers ▼ Bathhouses and other bathing facilities

    ▼ Hair salons and beauty salons ▼ Amusement parks and water parks ▼ Indoor sports facilities ▼ Shops, supermarkets, and department stores.

    Capacity limits and other measures must also be taken in these facilities.

     

    Mask-wearing, visitor log management, ventilation, and disinfection are also mandatory in general management facilities, and fines will be imposed for non-compliance.

     

    Events with over 500 attendees can be held if防疫 measures are followed and reported to the local government, but demonstrations and concerts will be limited to under 100 people.

    The number of spectators for sports matches will be limited to 30% of the stadium's capacity, and mask-wearing will be mandatory.

    Religious gatherings such as worship services, masses, and Buddhist ceremonies can only utilize up to 30% of the seating capacity.

     

    Public institutions will implement measures such as remote work (e.g., for one-third of staff).

    Private companies are recommended to adopt a work system similar to that of public institutions.

    School attendance will be limited to no more than two-thirds of the total student body.
