Singer IU will be releasing a new full album.

Her agency EDAM Entertainment announced on the 11th,

"IU is currently preparing her 5th full album.

One of the songs is scheduled to be pre-released on the 27th."

This will be IU's first full album release in about 3 years since her 4th album 'Palette'.

IU hinted at the release of a new full album through her acceptance speech after winning the Digital Music Daesang at the '35th Golden Disc Awards' held on the 9th.

She said, "This year, I will be able to greet you with a full album after a long time."

"It contains more encouraging words than ever before.

I will deliver music made with sincerity so that it can be a source of energy for those who are tired in their hearts, however small it may be."

IU is currently engrossed in the final stages of preparation for the new song release.

Regarding the pre-release song, her agency said,

"It's a bright and cheerful pop sound that will be energizing for listeners,

and it's a genre of music that IU is trying for the first time."

Meanwhile, IU debuted in 2008 with the mini-album 'Lost and Found'

and has been consistently active as a singer-songwriter.

Last year, she received love from listeners with songs like 'Blueming' and 'Love Poem'.
