CGV announced on the 15th that singer and actor Kim Jaejoong's documentary "ON THE ROAD" will be exclusively released in Korea on July 21st.
In the era of COVID-19, where it is difficult for artists and fans to meet directly, fans are expected to participate in large numbers, enjoying the story of their beloved artist realistically through the comfortable environment, large screen, and rich sound of the cinema.
"ON THE ROAD" is a documentary film that looks back on the path Kim Jaejoong has walked since his debut in the music industry in 2004, and depicts his autobiographical story of searching for new dreams while actively working as a singer and actor.
Starting with the concept of going on a journey, it frankly shows his past when his dream as a singer began, his current self, and his anxieties and dreams for the future.
It is scheduled to include scenes of practice rooms before a concert and interviews about his past group activities.
The film is directed by Lee Han, director of "A Moment to Remember," and showcases Kim Jaejoong's honest story with beautiful cinematography.
Music director Park Sung Il of the drama "Itaewon Class" participated in the OST, enhancing its completeness.
The title track "we're" was written and composed by Kim Jaejoong himself.
The film will be released on July 21st at 15 CGV locations, including CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall.
"ON THE ROAD" is rated for all ages and has a running time of 112 minutes.
Details regarding reservations can be found on the CGV mobile app and website.
Cho Ji-ho, head of CGV's content planning, said,
"CGV continuously presents documentary films by artists for fans.
We hope fans can experience precious memories and emotions together by watching artist documentaries in cinemas."
Last year, CGV screened the girl group IZ*ONE's "EYES ON ME: THE MOVIE," BTS's fourth film "BREAK THE SILENCE: THE MOVIE," and Kim Ho-joong's first-ever fan meeting movie "Thank You, You," all of which received positive reviews from audiences.
This August, BLACKPINK's 5th-anniversary film "BLACKPINK THE MOVIE" is scheduled to be released nationwide at CGV in 4DX and ScreenX, and 4DX Screen.
