According to multiple entertainment industry officials on the 24th, Yook Sung-jae has decided to appear in "The Golden Spoon" as his comeback project before his discharge from the military.
"The Golden Spoon," based on a popular webtoon of the same name, is a life adventure story about a boy who becomes a golden spoon by changing his parents and a boy who becomes a golden spoon postnatally. Filming is scheduled to begin in the second half of this year, with a target release in the first half of next year.
Expectations are high as this is the comeback work of writers Kim Eun-hee and Yoon Eun-kyung, who led the Hallyu wave with KBS2's "Winter Sonata," "Rული 18 Years Old," and "The Prime Minister and I." It is produced by Samhwa Networks, which produced SBS's "The Fiery Priest" and "Dr. Romantic 2."
Yook Sung-jae, who completed his military service on the 14th of this month, received numerous offers even before his discharge and has already chosen "The Golden Spoon" as his comeback project. This will be his first drama appearance in about two years since JTBC's "The Double Charge" aired in 2020. As "The Golden Spoon" is based on a popular webtoon, it is already garnering expectations for its high synchronization rate with the original work.
Regarding this, Yook Sung-jae's agency, Cube Entertainment, stated, "We have received a proposal for the project and are positively reviewing it."
