CJ ENM plans to upgrade its content for this year's KCON to reflect changes in cultural consumption patterns and Gen Z trends (born between the mid-1990s and early 2000s) after the COVID-19 pandemic, while implementing differentiated programs that consider the regional characteristics of the host cities.

Kim Dong-hyun, head of the company's music convention live business, commented, "Starting this year, we will overcome time and space with a combined digital and offline plan, allowing more fans to experience KCON."

KCON began in California, USA, in 2012. It has since been held in nine cities worldwide, including the United States, France, Australia, Mexico, and Japan, attracting over 1.1 million spectators in total. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, five online Hallyu events titled "KCON:TACT" were held from 2020, with a total viewership of 22.45 million.
