TWICE has set a record for the most Oricon weekly number ones in Japan by an overseas artist, with a total of 8. This is the first time an overseas female artist has achieved this.
On the morning of the 22nd, TWICE's 4th Japanese best album, "#TWICE4," released on the 16th of this month, debuted at number 1 on the latest Oricon Weekly Album Ranking with first-week sales of 66,000 points.
This marks TWICE's 8th number one overall, since topping the chart with their 3rd best album "#TWICE3" in September 2020. This is the highest record for an overseas female artist, making them sole number one and drawing significant attention.
Prior to this, TWICE's 4th Japanese best album recorded 40,454 points and topped the Oricon Daily Album Chart on the 15th.
This album includes both Korean and Japanese versions of hit songs that are immensely popular with fans both domestically and internationally, such as "I CAN'T STOP ME," "CRY FOR ME," "Alcohol-Free," and "SCIENTIST."
