Lim Young-woong, who released his first full album since his debut, has broken the record for first-week album sales by a solo artist in Korea.

According to Hanteo Chart, Lim Young-woong's first full album "IM HERO," released on the 2nd of this month, sold 940,000 copies on its first day of release.

First-week sales refer to the sales volume within 7 days of an album's release. The previous record was 870,000 copies set by Baekhyun, a member of the group EXO. Lim Young-woong achieved this feat in less than a day.

BTS holds the highest record for both solo and group categories. Lim Young-woong ranks 5th overall, following BTS in terms of records. If the current trend continues, first-week sales are expected to increase further in the remaining period. Breaking the 1 million mark also seems possible.

Since gaining national love through "Mr. Trot," Lim Young-woong has released several digital singles, but this is his first physical album. With the power of his fandom, "Hero Era" (fandom name), which is as strong as K-pop groups, there have been predictions from within and outside the music industry that Lim Young-woong's album would achieve massive sales. This first-week sales record has proven these predictions and Lim Young-woong's powerful fandom.
