[OSEN=Reporter Kim Chae-yeon] EXO's Chanyeol is returning to his fans after completing his military service.
On the 28th, Chanyeol will be discharged after completing his active-duty military service. He entered the training center on March 29th of last year, and after finishing his basic military training, he served in the ROK Army's 9th Infantry Division.
Even after enlisting, Chanyeol appeared in the military musical "Blue Helmet: A Song of Meissa." He also appeared on SBS Power FM's "Cultwo Show" in March alongside Jang Ki-yong and ONF's Hyojin to promote the musical, greeting the public for the first time in a while.
During his military service, Chanyeol was also troubled by confusing rumors. In April, rumors arose that he had driven threateningly against a female motorcyclist, to which his agency, SM Entertainment, stated to OSEN, "The person in the video is not Chanyeol, and the vehicle is also different from the one owned by Chanyeol." They also took a firm stance, saying they would "respond strongly to the spread of false information," and stepped up to protect their artist.
With this, Chanyeol becomes the 5th member of EXO to have completed his military service, following Xiumin, D.O., Suho, and Chen. With Chanyeol's discharge, only Baekhyun remains among the EXO members currently serving in the military. Baekhyun will be discharged in February 2023.
Meanwhile, EXO, the group to which Chanyeol belongs, has produced numerous hit songs including their debut song "MAMA," as well as "Wolf," "Growl," "Overdose," "CALL ME BABY," "LOVE ME RIGHT," "Monster," "Lotto," "Ko Ko Bop," "Power," "Tempo," "Love Shot," and "Obsession," sparking the "EXO Syndrome."
