The music awards ceremony, Melon Music Awards, will welcome global fans offline for the first time in three years.

Kakao Entertainment (CEOs Lee Jin-soo, Kim Sung-soo)'s music platform Melon will hold the "MMA 2022 Presented by Kakao Bank" (Melon Music Awards) at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on November 26. Kakao Bank will participate as the main sponsor for this year's MMA 2022.

Celebrating its 14th anniversary this year, the Melon Music Awards is a festival where artists and fans enjoy music together, combining the capabilities of the music platform Melon and the global entertainment company Kakao Entertainment. It returns to the Gocheok Dome after three years. First held online in 2005, the Melon Music Awards has since selected winners annually by reflecting Melon's usage data, member voting, and expert reviews. After expanding to an offline format in 2009, it was held both on and offline until 2019, but for the past two years, it was held non-face-to-face to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

This year, Melon has continued new attempts to maximize the value of music, such as "Melon Spotlight," a service that highlights artists when they release new albums through various exposure channels within the Melon app and large LED screens at Samseong Station's K-POP Square, and "Track Zero," an indie masterpiece discovery project. MMA 2022 will be a culmination of these musical achievements by Melon and the artists. It is expected to attract the attention of global fans by featuring not only popular artists who have shined on the Melon Chart and Melon Spotlight, which are representative indicators of global K-POP, but also various indie artists introduced on Track Zero.

In addition, various online pre-events related to MMA 2022 are being prepared, where users can participate directly, such as the brand campaign "Top 100 of the World," which became a big topic this year among the MZ generation who are core Melon users, and the "Hotple" project, which features the top 100 BGM spots in Korea.
