The "Gaon Chart Music Awards" is being rebranded as the "CIRCLE CHART MUSIC AWARDS."

In July, Gaon Chart officially partnered with global platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube to launch a global K-pop chart that collects K-pop data from around the world, and was rebranded as "CIRCLE CHART." Accordingly, the "Gaon Chart Music Awards" will also be rebranded under the new name "Circle Chart Music Awards" under the auspices of Circle Chart.

There are also changes to the award categories. With the increase in global demand for K-pop, major award categories will select winners based on global K-pop chart data. Categories that will determine winners based on global K-pop chart data include the Artist of the Year (Digital Music) and New Artist of the Year (Digital Music), as well as the World Rookie of the Year award. Additionally, the Female/Male Solo and Group Artist of the Year awards have been newly established. These categories will select winners by reflecting global K-pop chart and album chart data at a 50:50 ratio.

The name of the Style of the Year award category has also been changed. Since its first year, the Gaon Chart Music Awards has included award categories for music industry professionals to encourage their efforts. Among these, the scope of the Style of the Year award's Choreography and Stylist categories has been expanded to Performance Director and Visual Director, respectively. This reflects the growing importance of these fields in the K-pop industry, where visual elements are crucial.

While the awards ceremony will be held in South Korea, it will be available for viewing worldwide simultaneously via online live streaming. In particular, the photo wall event, which was a side event of the ceremony, has been expanded into a red carpet event and is being prepared so that K-pop fans around the world can enjoy it through online live streaming. Following the previous event, they also plan to continue conveying a message about environmental protection.
