South Korea's legendary music program "Gayo Top 10" is set to be revived in a new form.
KBS officially stated, "We are preparing to launch a new music program, 'Gayo Top 10', in March."
They further explained, "While it may borrow the same title and the 'Golden Cup' system as the original 'Gayo Top 10', it is expected to be a program with an entirely different composition and content. It will not affect the scheduling of other KBS music programs like 'Music Bank' or the upcoming 'The Seasons - Park Jae-beom's Drive'." It is known that the production will be handled by PD Yoon Go-eun of "WE KPOP" and PD Lee Seung-gon of "Dancing High".
"Gayo Top 10," which ended in February 1998, was a legendary music program that left a significant mark on the history of South Korean popular music and was loved by the entire nation. Last March, it returned after 25 years with the subtitle "Virtual." "Virtual Gayo Top 10" created an unprecedented, groundbreaking music broadcast with the concept of a meeting between K-pop artists and the virtual world, featuring appearances by artists such as "Gahwan" Na Hoon-a, as well as groups like Stray Kids, Mirae, and Billlie. It garnered attention by being broadcast in 114 countries through the KBS WORLD YouTube and KBS WORLD TV channels.
