[Daily An = Reporter Ryu Ji-yoon] Daesung of the group BIGBANG has signed an exclusive contract with R&D Company.
Recently, after discussions, Daesung signed an exclusive contract with R&D Company. R&D Company plans to establish a dedicated team for Daesung to provide full support for his activities not only in music but also in various other fields.
Daesung ended his exclusive contract with YG last December. Previously, T.O.P's exclusive contract with BIGBANG expired in February of last year, and Taeyang moved to The Black Label and is currently actively promoting as a solo artist. G-Dragon is in discussions with YG regarding a solo contract. Although all members have gone their separate ways, BIGBANG is expected to remain intact and continue its activities.
Upon leaving YG, Daesung stated, "I am sincerely grateful for taking care of me, raising me, and helping me grow for such a long time when I was just a child. Keeping that gratitude in a corner of my heart, I am about to embark on a new adventure." He added, "It is scary and daunting, but I believe there is clear value in the steps I am taking. Although I am still immature and lacking in many ways, I ask for your continued interest and support for my journey."
Meanwhile, Daesung debuted with BIGBANG in 2006 and was loved for a long time as a top group, with numerous hit songs such as "Lies," "Last Farewell," "Haru Haru," "Fantastic Baby," "BANG BANG BANG," and "Flower Road." After member Seungri left the team in 2018 due to the "Burning Sun Gate" scandal, the group reorganized as a quartet and released the single "Still Life" in April of last year, topping music charts and proving their enduring popularity.
