JYP Entertainment's new global girl group VCHA has debuted.

According to JYP Entertainment, VCHA released their pre-debut single "SeVit (NEW LIGHT)" and the title track "Y.O.Universe" on the 22nd at 1:00 PM (0:00 AM EST).

VCHA is a new JYP girl group finalized through "A2K" (America2Korea), a global girl group launch project in collaboration between JYP and Republic Records. The group consists of six members: Lexi, KG, Camila, Savanna, Kaylee, and Kendall (in order of final ranking), who passed the final stages of the debut process in the U.S. and Korea.

Lexi, KG, Camila, Savanna, Kaylee, and Kendall were selected as the final members of VCHA after being recognized equally in evaluation categories such as singing, dancing, star quality, and character throughout "A2K." The group name VCHA, revealed in the final episode of "A2K," embodies the team's identity. It was named directly by Park Jin-young, who spearheaded "A2K," based on the Korean word for shining light on fans and the world.

The pre-debut single "SeVit (NEW LIGHT)" that VCHA is unveiling today (22nd) means "new light" and has a strong organic connection to the team name. The project's quality was enhanced by the participation of talented writers, including JYP head producer Park Jin-young, Cirkut, who produced Sam Smith's 65th Grammy Award-winning song "Unholy," and David Stewart, producer of BTS's "Dynamite."

The new single features three tracks that were showcased during the finale of the "A2K" journey, including the title track "Y.O.Universe," "Go Getter," and "Know Me Like That," all filled with the voices of the six members.

The title track "Y.O.Universe," written and composed by Park Jin-young, Cirkut, and others, is an up-tempo pop song that unfolds the narrative of the "A2K" series and its participants, carrying the message that "we are all special because we are different."

The massive project "A2K," a collaboration between K-pop representative agency JYP and Republic Records, the No. 1 label in the U.S. as selected by Billboard under Universal Music, kicked off grandly in July 2023 via JYP's official YouTube channel.

As a global girl group launch survival project based on the first K-pop training system in North America, JYP head Park Jin-young served as an audition judge, personally evaluating candidates with dreams and potential across five major U.S. cities—Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Dallas, and LA—followed by an LA bootcamp and the final stages in Korea. The participants' sweat and effort toward their dreams, along with Park Jin-young's candid critiques, received an enthusiastic response from global fans, leading to the success of "A2K" with its total YouTube views surpassing 50 million.
