[OSEN=Reporter Ji Min-kyung] Stray Kids will make a comeback with the release of their new mini-album "樂-STAR" (ROCK-STAR) on November 10th.
JYP Entertainment released a video titled "Stray Kids '樂-STAR' Prologue" on their official SNS channels at midnight on the 6th, announcing Stray Kids' comeback and thrilling fans both at home and abroad. Following their first comeback of 2023, the 3rd full-length album "★★★★★ (5-STAR)", which topped the US "Billboard 200" for three consecutive times, Stray Kids will release their new work after about 5 months, elevating their high flight with the new album "樂-STAR," which shares an organic connection with "★★★★★ (5-STAR)."
The released prologue leads viewers into a new direction and world, different from the teaser content Stray Kids has shown so far. The video begins by spotlighting a child (Kid) fast asleep 30 minutes before a performance starts. In the dream, the child becomes the protagonist of a movie taking over a bank and enjoys "joy," but the sweet dream cannot last forever, and they wake up in surprise while being surrounded by people they believed were on their same side. The time they wake up is just 5 minutes before the performance starts, and everyone is in the middle of preparations. The shaken child sighs, expressing their complicated state of mind. Like sleepiness pouring down before an important performance, or a pirate ship stopped on a journey toward a treasure island, sometimes the world does not go as planned, provoking "anger." This can grow into the emotion of "anxiety," but the child knows that emotions are created by oneself, and if one can go beyond that and "enjoy" it, they can succeed.
Finally, the kids stepped onto the stage. Curiosity and expectations are gathering regarding what kind of music, concept, and "ROCK" they will unfold under the energetic guitar sounds, drum beats, and waving flags, as they show they truly know how to "enjoy."
Stray Kids pushed three works to the top of the "Billboard 200": "ODDINARY" in March 2022, "MAXIDENT" in October, and "★★★★★ (5-STAR)" in June 2023. In particular, "★★★★★ (5-STAR)" proved its long-running popularity by staying on the chart for 15 consecutive weeks, breaking the group's own record for the longest time on the chart. Recently, they have been traveling around the world, solidifying their status as a "global trend." In July, they enthused over 60,000 spectators as the first K-pop headliner at "Lollapalooza Paris," and in September, they made their first appearance at the "2023 MTV Video Music Awards" held at the Prudential Center in New York, taking home the trophy in the "Best K-Pop" category with their 3rd full-length album title track "S-Class." Meanwhile, the group's internal producing team 3RACHA, consisting of Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, made their first appearance at the "2023 Global Citizen Festival" held in New York's Central Park, showcasing a top-tier performance and captivating the local audience.
In addition, they are successfully carrying out their large-scale dome tour across 5 cities in Korea and Japan, a "first for a 4th generation K-pop boy group," recording sold-out shows for every performance. The "5-STAR Dome Tour 2023" has finished its performances at the Fukuoka PayPay Dome, Vantelin Dome Nagoya, and Kyocera Dome Osaka, and will reach its finale at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on October 21st-22nd, followed by the Tokyo Dome in Japan on the 28th-29th.
Meanwhile, the new mini-album "樂-STAR," the essence of "樂 & ROCK" presented by Stray Kids who know how to enjoy, will be officially released on November 10th at 2 PM (0:00 AM Eastern Time in the US). Pre-orders for the new album will begin at domestic and international retailers starting today (the 6th) at 1 PM. /mk3244@osen.co.kr
