MMA2023 (Melon Music Awards) has unveiled the strong candidates for the Top 10, which selects the artists who shone the brightest this year. 

There are a total of 30 teams nominated for the Top 10, including (G)I-DLE, who created a global syndrome with "Queencard"; Park Jae-jung, who released his first full-length album 10 years after his debut; BSS, who set the record for the highest first-week sales for a K-pop unit in history; SEVENTEEN, who are recording career highs one after another; Lim Young-woong, who enjoys nationwide popularity; NCT 127, who showed their unique wild charm with "Ay-Yo"; and NCT DREAM, who remade H.O.T.'s hit song "Candy" in their own color.

BTS members such as Jungkook, Jimin, and SUGA, who showcased their worldwide class with their respective solo albums, were also nominated for the Top 10. Taeyang, who displayed legendary synergy with Jimin on "VIBE (feat. Jimin of BTS)," was also included.

Also ranked as Top 10 candidates are Jisoo, who garnered attention with her unrivaled performance in "FLOWER"; TOMORROW X TOGETHER, who exuded dreamy charm in "Sugar Rush Ride"; aespa, who took the No. 1 spot on the Melon Top 100 with "Spicy"; AKMU, the "trust-and-listen" duo loved for "Love Lee"; and emerging digital powerhouse BIG Naughty (Seo Dong-hyun).

Furthermore, girl groups also appeared as candidates, including FIFTY FIFTY, who created an unprecedented chart-climbing myth and caught the attention of fans worldwide; IVE, who are causing a succession of hit sensations; LE SSERAFIM, who are enjoying a long run supported by global popularity; NewJeans, who emerged as a top girl group by winning two awards at last year's MMA2022; and NMIXX, who are showing powerful growth as "all-rounder rookies."

Following them are ballad representatives such as Lim Han-byeol, who reached the top of the Melon daily ballad chart with "Because I Don't Love You"; Zia, who sang the answer song to this track, "Because I Don't Love You"; and Huh Gak, who stands out for his poignant sensibility. Numerous remakes were also nominated, including Song Ha-ye's "Knowing You"; Shin Ye-young's "Last Love," a reinterpretation of a Park Ki-young ballad; Woody's "Say I Love You," which reborn 4Men's music in his own style; and DK (December)'s "Footsteps," a remake of Emerald Castle's legendary masterpiece.
