The "31st Hanteo Music Awards 2023" has announced its 3rd lineup.
The organizer, Hanteo Global, announced the 3rd lineup for the "31st Hanteo Music Awards 2023 (hereinafter Hanteo Music Awards)" on the 8th, which includes performers YB, Kep1er, Billlie, VANNER, JUST B, TEMPEST, 8TURN, Libelante, and DJ Vandal Rock, as well as presenters Yoon Il-sang, Kim Hyung-suk, Kim Dong-wan, and Sunye.
The most eye-catching name in the 3rd lineup is the "50 million national rock band" YB. Since their formation in 1995, YB has been a representative band of South Korea, boasting countless hit songs and receiving unwavering love from the public for 29 years.
Especially since many K-pop artists cite YB's music as their "life songs," expectations are high for a performance that will resonate deeply.
"The future of girl groups," Kep1er and Billlie, have also added their names to the performer list. The multinational girl group Kep1er, formed through Mnet's "Girls Planet 999: The Girls Saga," has proven their musical prowess by releasing numerous domestic and international albums since their debut in 2022, and has established themselves as next-generation K-pop representatives through various performances worldwide, including a Japanese arena tour.
Billlie, the first girl group introduced by Mystic Story, is a global trendsetter showcasing unique musicality and performance based on constant musical experimentation with every album. They are recognized by leading media outlets in Korea, Japan, and around the world, and are expanding their sphere of activity globally.
JUST B, TEMPEST, VANNER, and 8TURN are K-pop rising stars who have been attracting a lot of attention recently. JUST B, who debuted in June 2021 and has been rapidly expanding their fanbase, recently held their first solo fan meeting "READY, BURN! in SEOUL" to meet fans, and has a solo North American tour coming up this year.
TEMPEST, who debuted in March 2022, is also a boy group receiving hot interest recently, continuing an upward trend as their single "Into the Storm" released last September hit a career high.
VANNER, noted as a "performance-centered idol group," has been recognized for their solid skills in both domestic and global markets through dozens of overseas performances, and 8TURN, known as the "miracle of a small-to-medium agency," is also expanding their fanbase with the significantly improved performance of their 3rd mini-album "STUNNING."
Finally, the crossover male quartet vocal group Libelante, the winners of JTBC's "Phantom Singer 4" who have secured a solid fanbase with their outstanding visuals and ability to traverse genres, and the talented DJ Vandal Rock have been included in the 3rd lineup.
Yoon Il-sang and Kim Hyung-suk will join as presenters. As composers of popular music representing the 90s and 2000s, Yoon Il-sang and Kim Hyung-suk have created hit songs for numerous singers such as Lee Moon-sae, Im Jae-bum, Insooni, Kim Kwang-seok, Shin Seung-hun, Sung Si-kyung, Im Chang-jung, Park Jin-young, Uhm Jung-hwa, Kim Gun-mo, Jo Sung-mo, Kim Jo-han, Brown Eyed Girls, Turbo, Goofy, Kim Bum-soo, Young Turks Club, Lee Seung-chul, Lee Eun-mi, and Sechs Kies.
In addition, Kim Dong-wan of the first-generation boy group Shinhwa and Sunye of Wonder Girls, who signaled the start of the second-generation girl groups, will also participate as presenters to award the juniors who will lead the future of K-pop.
