[Sports Seoul] The "monster rookies" are returning.
5th generation frontrunners RIIZE (Shotaro, Eunseok, Sungchan, Wonbin, Seunghan, Sohee, Anton) will make a comeback in April. They are currently putting the finishing touches on their comeback preparations.
This marks their return after three months since the release of their single "Love 119" on January 5th.
RIIZE is the first boy group introduced by SM Entertainment (hereinafter SM) in seven years since NCT. Appearing like a comet last September, their debut album, which included the title track "Get A Guitar," recorded 1,016,849 copies in first-week sales, making them million-sellers immediately upon debut.
In addition, they have been active without a break, following up with "Love 119" and achieving remarkable results on major domestic music charts.
In particular, their previous work "Love 119" reached 5th place on the Melon monthly chart for February, updating their personal best ranking and continuing its "long-run popularity" even two months after its release. It has also surpassed 10 million streams on the global chart, Spotify.
Riding this momentum, RIIZE became the "best rookies" by winning two awards, including the Rookie of the Year and the Main Award (Bonsang), at the "33rd Seoul Music Awards" held in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 2nd.
They also won Rookie of the Year awards at the "Melon Music Awards," "The Fact Music Awards," and "Circle Chart Music Awards." They swept prestigious Korean awards ceremonies, taking home the Favorite New Artist award at the "MAMA Awards" and the Next Worldwide Artist award at the "Hanteo Music Awards."
In April, senior boy groups such as SEVENTEEN and TOMORROW X TOGETHER are expected to make major comebacks, leading to an even fiercer competition than ever before. RIIZE will enter the April comeback battle as the representative runner for their agency, SM.
Meanwhile, RIIZE will hold their first fan-con since debut, "2024 RIIZE FAN-CON TOUR 'RIIZING DAY'," starting at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium in Seoul on May 4th-5th to meet their fans.
Following the Seoul performance, RIIZE will visit 9 regions around the world, including Tokyo on May 11th-12th, LA on the 20th, Hong Kong on June 1st, Taipei on the 15th, Manila on July 14th, Singapore on the 20th, Bangkok on the 27th-28th, and Jakarta on August 31st. Additional performance areas will be announced at a later date.
