It has been revealed that the Incheon International Airport Corporation has requested that entertainment agencies use a dedicated entrance when celebrities enter or leave the country.

The Incheon International Airport Corporation recently sent an official document to entertainment agencies, stating, "To minimize situations that could cause crowds to gather, we have prepared new procedures to allow celebrities and other famous individuals to use the Incheon Airport departure gate dedicated entrance, with plans to implement this on October 28, 2024."

For this reason, celebrities and entertainment agencies wishing to use the dedicated entrance must submit an application in an official document to the Incheon International Airport Corporation in advance.

The Incheon International Airport Corporation stated, "As the global popularity of domestic artists grows, instances of fans and other crowds gathering at the airport during artist arrivals and departures have become frequent, leading to situations that cause inconvenience to general passengers or threaten safety," adding, "We request that you guide your artists' fandoms to 'refrain from visiting Incheon Airport during artist arrivals and departures'."

In August, the security team for actor Byeon Woo-seok faced criticism after it was revealed that they flashed lights at airport passengers and controlled airport gates while he was departing through Incheon Airport.

In response, opinions emerged that basic control is necessary when celebrities and famous individuals enter or leave Incheon Airport, leading the Incheon International Airport Corporation to convey this policy to each entertainment agency.

Additionally, on the 20th, the Incheon International Airport Corporation held a meeting with representatives from major domestic entertainment agencies, requesting that they take care to ensure that travelers do not feel inconvenienced by excessive security during the process of celebrities entering or leaving the country.

Furthermore, in preparation for times when celebrity arrival and departure information is leaked in advance and excessively large crowds gather within the airport terminal, they requested that celebrities minimize the time spent in the terminal and that entertainment agencies share the deployment status of their security personnel with the Incheon International Airport Corporation and the Incheon International Airport Police Corps to maintain stable order.

The Incheon International Airport Corporation announced "preventive measures regarding excessive security for celebrities at the airport," proposing a plan where the Airport Police Corps will control the scene and manage order if 300 to 500 people flock to the airport due to a celebrity's arrival or departure.
