Major South Korean entertainment agency YG Entertainment announced on the 17th that it would "restructure its business to focus on its core business of music" and that "as part of this, it will end its actor management business."

The agency previously managed actors such as Cha Seung-won, Choi Ji-woo, Gang Dong-won, Lee Jong-suk, and Kim Hee-ae.

The business restructuring has been carried out in stages.

The agency held shares in its subsidiary, Studio Plex, which produced dramas such as "Mr. Queen," but sold them last year. In August of the same year, it liquidated its dance management and academy business label, YGX.

This year, the company plans to focus on its music business, including establishing an internal project organization for the release of new songs by the popular group BLACKPINK within the year, and holding the first world tour for the girl group BABYMONSTER, which debuted last year.

An official from the agency stated, "We have been focusing our efforts on restructuring our business to concentrate on our core business," adding that this year will be the year those efforts lead to results.
