The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of South Korea announced on the 25th that related government ministries will jointly hold the "2021 K-Expo" in November, introducing various Hallyu products online and offline.
This year's expo integrates events that were previously held separately by each ministry, such as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's "ON: Hallyu Festival" and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's "Hallyu Expo."
During the month-long expo starting on the 1st of next month, the government will actively promote Hallyu products and services such as Hallyu content, cosmetics, food, and fashion, both online and offline.
In addition, together with influencers such as social media content creators, real-time discounted sales of Hallyu products will be held on online shopping sites like Amazon (US) and Qoo10 (Japan).
During the period, an online export business matching event will be held continuously, connecting 564 domestic companies in Hallyu-related industries such as content, cosmetics, and food with 635 overseas companies.
From November 8th to 11th, an export business matching venue, a planning exhibition hall for Hallyu-related products, and a live commerce support hall will be set up at COEX, a convention and exhibition center in Seoul.
Support will be provided for online export business matching for approximately 400 domestic companies, and various Hallyu products, including immersive content, will be exhibited. Plans include supporting video production so that companies can sell their exhibited products online.
Pre-registration via the official website (http://kexpo.kr) is required to visit the venue.
On November 6th, an online K-POP performance and events for Hallyu fans will be held on the YouTube channel "SBS KPOP."
Additionally, on October 27th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will hold the "14th Korea-China-Japan Culture Content Industry Forum" online, with participation from government and private sectors of the three countries, to discuss joint development and cooperation measures for the content industries of the three nations.
