★Sinbundang Line Extension (Gangnam Station – Shinsa Station)★
The Sinbundang Line, which connects Gangnam in Seoul, the Bundang district in Seongnam City, and the Gwanggyo district in Suwon City, is a popular line frequently used by commuters. It will be extended on May 28th.
The approximately 2.4 km section from Gangnam Station north to Sinnonhyeon Station, Nonhyeon Station, and Shinsa Station will be extended this time. As this is the opening of an extension of the subway running underground along Gangnam-daero, the main artery connecting north and south Gangnam, it is expected to alleviate passenger congestion at Gangnam Station for bus transfers and increase visitors to Garosu-gil.
Furthermore, the Sinbundang Line is planned to be extended further north from Shinsa Station, passing under the Han River to Dongbinggo Station, National Museum Station, and finally to Yongsan Station. This extension is currently being promoted with the aim of completion after 2027.

This light rail system, with trains consisting of 3 cars, allows transfers at Saetgang Station (Line 9), Daebang Station (Line 1), Boramae Station (Line 7), and Sillim Station (Line 2). It will improve convenience for residents in southern Seoul, commuting to Seoul National University, and accessing Gwanaksan Mountain.
