    Details

Located near Yeouido, Myunghwa Live Hall is a dedicated live performance venue designed for concerts, events, and parties.
The venue is equipped with professional lighting, sound, video, and stage facilities, and can accommodate audiences ranging from 600 to 2,000 people.

Originally opened as Myunghwa Theater on August 1, 1982, the venue became one of Seoul's iconic cinemas during the 1980s and 1990s. Alongside Hwayang Theater and Daeji Theater, it was well known as a popular destination for Hong Kong noir films. In 1988, actors Chow Yun Fat and Lung Ti even held a fan signing event there to celebrate the release of A Better Tomorrow II.

As multiplex cinemas became more popular in the late 1990s, Myunghwa Theater closed after nearly 20 years of operation. The building later reopened as Myunghwa Night in 2002, but ceased operations in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2023, the building was completely renovated and reborn as Myunghwa Live Hall, a modern concert venue with a maximum capacity of 2,000 seats. It officially opened on November 25, 2023, with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds – Special Night in Seoul as its inaugural performance. ⓒNamu.wiki
