To a delicious shop of "Tteok-macaron", an evolved version of macarons. Also, unusual Kimbap!

Near "Seoul National University Station" on Subway Line 2, there is "Sharol-gil".

It's already well-known to anyone familiar with Korea that there are many stylish and cute cafes and restaurants here.

We went to a shop located off a side street from Sharol-gil,

famous for its delicious "Tteok-macaron", an evolved version of macarons^^

The "Premium Strawberry Milk" Tteok-macaron at this shop is something they've applied for a patent on.

But I thought, "Honestly, it probably won't be that different from other shops..." and tried it, but...

    Wow!!! The strawberries are juicy!!

The cream really tastes like strawberry milk too ♡

"Tteok-macaron (뚱카롱)" originally comes from "fat (뚱뚱한) macaron".

As the name suggests, they are so thick that it's difficult to eat them in one bite (though I managed to do it in one bite).

Honestly, I wasn't a big fan of macarons in general because they are often too sweet,

but this one had just the right amount of sweetness and was truly delicious^^

The Earl Grey I bought along with it also had a strong tea flavor and was very delicious!

I ate them all up in one go.

And then... since the weather was nice, I decided to take a walk for one subway stop from Sharol-gil...

There, I discovered a shop that sells unusual Kimbap!

    However...

I didn't know it, but it's a very popular shop.

I thought I'd made it just in time for their break time starting at 2 PM, but the lunch sales were already sold out (crying).

Their break time is until 4 PM, but they said they have reservations, so if I booked now, it would be available after 5 PM.

I wondered what I would do with the time until then... but I had come this far, there was no way I was leaving without eating it!!

I made a reservation and left temporarily.

    5:30 PM!!

    FinallyーーーーーーーーーーIt's here━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━!!

It's packed with thinly sliced egg omelet.

The filling is (almost) only egg.

I expected it to be sweet, but this is Korea.

It's quite spicy. And quite a lot.

    It's an addictive flavor.

It's called "Rice Thief Kimbap" (밥도둑김밥).

However, it really dries out your mouth.

They have tea available at the shop, so be sure to have some with it.

Takeout is also available, of course.

It might be a good idea to call and make a reservation before visiting.

Especially on weekends, it seems to sell out quickly. By the time I returned at 5:30 PM, the ingredients for the day were finished, and all customers who hadn't made a reservation were turned away.

Not only the Kimbap itself, but this is the first time I've seen such a popular Kimbap shop.

If you want to enjoy a unique Seoul experience, it's worth a visit~
