Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon visited Gocheok Sky Dome on this day to inspect the improved facilities for the players and confirm measures for safe spectating, including crowd control.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Facilities Corporation, which manages Gocheok Sky Dome, expect over 100,000 baseball fans from home and abroad to flock to the dome area for the opening series. They are prepared to support on-site safety management, crowd control, and emergency/rescue services through close cooperation with relevant agencies, including the organizer Major League Baseball (MLB), Guro-gu, the police, and the fire department.

MLB will deploy approximately 400 safety staff members—more than three times the number for a typical professional baseball game—inside and outside the dome to maintain order and ensure spectator safety. Identity verification and security checks will also be conducted for all attendees.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government, Guro-gu, and the police will deploy about 150 personnel to support the organizer's on-site safety management. An on-site command post has been established within the dome to respond quickly in the event of an emergency.

Gocheok Sky Dome celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. In cooperation with MLB, the artificial turf has been completely replaced with a world-class shock-absorbing version. All stadium lighting has been replaced with light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to improve brightness and increase energy efficiency.

Locker rooms and dining areas have been improved so that players can enter the game in the best possible condition. Photo zones and gardens have been set up around the stadium to provide entertainment for visitors.

In the opening game on the 20th, Yu Darvish of the Padres is expected to start and face Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers.
