Seoul Weather Update : July Weeks 3-4  

If you’re traveling to Seoul this week, here’s a quick update on the weather and some useful tips to help you prepare!

Despite earlier news that Korea’s monsoon season was over, the rain has made a comeback. The rainy weather is expected to continue until Thursday, July 18. Because of the rain, the temperature has dropped significantly which is pretty unusual for mid-July, with highs staying below 30°C (86°F).

Once the rain clears up, the heat will return. Next week’s temperatures are expected to range from 25°C (77°F) in the mornings to 33°C (91°F) during the day. So, if you’re visiting Korea soon, pack lightweight summer clothes. But don’t forget, most indoor places blast the air conditioning, so it’s a good idea to bring a light outer layer too!

 Summer Packing Essentials for Korea 

Here are some must-haves if you’re visiting Korea during the summer

☆Mosquito & Bug Repellent
If you’re planning to visit mountains or riversides, this is a must. Korean summers = lots of mosquitoes!

☆Sun Umbrella (Parasol)
While not traditionally common in Korea, more and more people are using them now due to the intense sun.

☆Sunscreen & Sunglasses
Always a good idea to protect your skin and eyes from UV rays.

☆Portable Fan or Folding Fan
Highly recommended! You’ll thank yourself when you’re waiting outdoors or on public transit.

☆Cooling Wipes & Cooling Patches
You can find these easily at stores like Olive Young or Daiso, but feel free to bring your own too!

☆Light Jacket or Cardigan
Indoor spaces like cafes, malls, and subways can get really cold due to air conditioning.

Whether you're coming for sightseeing, shopping, or a concert, being prepared for Korea’s humid summer will make your trip a lot more comfortable. Stay cool and enjoy Seoul!
